LET'S PERFORM AT MAYFIELD - 'ALWAYS START WITH WHY'

The transformation of our smaller redundant hall into this unique and very special learning and celebration environment for our children has been a delight to watch as it has emerged from the shadow of the partial school closures of 2020 and 2021. Since September 2019, upon the arrival of our new headteacher, the vision has been clear. Value every achievement. Make every action purposeful. Make use of every learning space for the benefit of our children and the fulfilment of our teaching and learning offer. Our children will have the best. It will be unique to Mayfield and we will dare to do. The ABC Theatre and studio is a mjaor example of this. 

Under the leadership of Mr Denton, our new learning and performance space has risen from nowhere in record time. This means we now have a space with a stage, sound and lighting system to rival any school and many professional venues (this is no overstatement). We want the best experience possible for our children and this is an example of it. 

Our vision talks about enabling strong sustained platforms for speaking, listening and presentational skills aligned to personal confidence, this space is perfect for the rehearsing and performing of our new 'When I Grow Up...' curriculum opportunities. Whether it be dance studio, debating chamber, art gallery, market square showcase or showtime, we have the curriculum and resources to ensure our vision is brought to life. Our children need that opportunity to increase and share their vocabulary, to speak for different audiences and purposes, to gain the belief and confidence to talk to others and stand in the limelight. This is what our community needs and craves - we are delivering this.
