Our PE & Sports Premium funding has been carefully planned and deployed within broader three year cycles. This allows us to consider legacy and sustainability within all of our intended actions. The current cycle of planning and evalution (23/24 - 25/26) follows this rationale exactly. School is aware that funding is currently only confirmed to the end of 2024/2025 but we have continued with our three year planning as in any scenario the actions taking must find a way of continuing and potentially developing even though funding is not guaranteed. The current document has been reviewed and revised at July/August/September 2024 ready for the new academic year.

Note that the plans and monies for PE/Sports Premium were allocated by previous school leadership - up to and including 2019/2020 - prior to the new headteacher and his leadership team taking post in the September of that year. As such the monies for 2019/2020 were locked into existing committed agreements and provided almost no scope for revisions during this time - except yellow highlighted sections within the documents.
2020/2021 reflected the first full opportunity to fully plan and direct funds with clear intent matched to the vision of the new Mayfield Primary School under new leadership. Leaders took the opportunity at that point to implement a longer three year projected plan for the sustainable use of this funding and to search for a greater legacy within the use of funds. We completed the first three year cycle in Summer 2023 and have now embarked upon our second three year cycle from Autumn 2023 as mentioned at the outset.
The new school leadership has worked hard since arrival to develop the planning and reporting format for the document - providing sharper clarity from the 2018/2019 review that they undertook and the 2019/2020 plans that they inherited in merely note form. This approach has been taken to the previous and latest three year plans. You can find all reports and plans, available to download in PDF form, at the base of this page.
