A REMOTE LEARNING MANAGER SUPERVISING PROVISION AND TROUBLE SHOOTING ALL DAY - EVERY SCHOOL DAY.

PLEASE NOTE OUR REMOTE LEARNING OFFER IS ON STANDBY AND WILL BE DEPLOYED IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

Designed and tested during September & October of Autumn Term 2020, ready for any further bubble or school closure from November 2020 onwards, our current remote learning offer is no hastily planned response to the current crisis.

This is the criteria we established and our remote learning delivers:

* Have the facility to replicate a 'live' school day in its entirety. We wanted the rhythm and routine of school to be in place and available to all.

* Create a remote learning offer that can be an 'on demand' facility as well for those families who needs, situation and context differ.

* Teachers being live and available every school day - during school hours.

* A mixture of live film, recorded film, live blogs and directed supporting sites.

* The remote learning offer is as closely aligned as possible to in-school curriculum that would have taken place. All units and themes are a remote version of our current 'in school' offer.

* Remote learning activities are a suitably accessible version of the planned classroom learning - only 'impossible to replicate experiences' will be replaced with another suitable option.

* Staff take their existing intended planning and adapt this for remote purposes.

* It is vital that the planned curriculum is delivered, as far as possible, in order to ensure we can make continued assessments of children's current attainment and progress and so that our subject leaders can monitor expectations easier.

* THE SYSTEM MUST ALLOW FOR PERSONALISED MARKING, FEEDBACK, REWARD AND RESPONSE.

* THE SYSTEM MUST ALLOW FOR AS PERSONALISED AN OFFER AS POSSIBLE - TO REPLICATE THE PERSONALISED STARTING POINT AND SMALL GROUP PHILOSOPHY IN THE CLASSROOM.

* Chosen platforms for learning must, where deemed essential, allow for personalised responses in the 'most swift, consistent and manageable way possible'.

* Platforms for learning must be familiar to our children - to aid operation.

* Remote Learning must meet our 'Valuing Every Achievement' vision and supporting rationale.

* The remote learning system must allow us to monitor engagement from our children and families - allowing us to respond in timely fashion where needed.

* The remote learning offer must be available on day one to assess teething troubles and making revisions and developments from day two - we achieved this fully.

* Build in the facility for 'social well-being' time within the week - where the focus is upon digital meeting and communication rather than simply accessing activities/work.

* The facility for families to offer feedback daily direct to school. (This has actually been built in twice daily.)

* A weekly summary response provided to families by school leaders using feedback received and questions from families. (We do this via YouTube & Weekly News FAQs.)

* Our own plans for providing digital devices are in place from day one without reliance upon any other additional supporting offer.

* Staff must be fully trained and ready to deploy this system without any fuss or delay. (Training was undertaken in October.)

* Our safeguarding team must respond directly with families where there are concerns about remote learning being utilised.

* ACCEPT THAT THE CONSISTENT SUCCESS OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IS DEPENDENT UPON APPROPRIATE INTERNET CONNECTION ETC....THERE WILL BE FRUSTRATIONS AT TIMES!

Hopefully we will not need this provision again. But we are prepared!
